It’s going to be a long, wet winter in the heartland – dark skies and lots of viruses keeping everyone indoors (like when COVID was rampant). Days will run together. The viruses (on computers, phones, and bodies) hit the adults but not the children. Adults will sleep through their alarms for days at a time, and forget what day or month it is because all of the plants are blooming at weird times, and planets and the moon are aligning at different times – and only the children will know the season or day it really is, by keeping time with their futuristic ring bands that they set while together at little libraries and meeting points that start popping up all over neighborhoods in Oklahoma City. The children will subscribe to “Starlink” for their neighborhood and will have the ability to walk themselves to school, even the littlest ones with sibling help, jumping through puddles, bringing their rubber ducky lunch boxes, golashes and umbrellas with them.
