A Letter to My Husband

So I was trying to tell my husband a perfect place to run a TTRPG business (called The Kobold Lounge) is in a resort (like Carlton Landing).  Robert thinks that’s a stupid idea.  I think it’s got legs.

I mean, I’m going to use my imagination for a while…

WHAT IF…

What if we sold our house (worth approximately $180,000 since it needs some work) and moved to Carlton Landing… We’d have to pay off the $35,000 HELOC with the cash out, but that would leave us with $150,000 that would be a great start to either build a brick and mortar game shop, or a home (or both).  Maybe we could even stack an apartment on top of the game shop (Mother Earth’s Gambit or Gaia’s Gambit) and kill two birds with one stone.

So let’s build a game shop where we teach table top games and host lots of tournaments for low income kids in MacAlister and Eufala (and get grants to do it) as well as for vacationers.

Maybe we could even start a second 3D Printing / laser engraving business.

Maybe we could all move there.  You, me, Michael, Maria, Ava, Haze and my parents (who already have a place  there) of course!!!

  • See if Carlton Landing would allow YOU to build a quad-plex for you and the kids with your VA loan that you never used.  Michael, Maria and Ava could all get jobs and pay you rent.  You could occupy the last one.
  • I could either rent or build a place of my own with the equity we will get out of the sale of our Bethany house.  You’d still get 1/3 of the $150k if you really think that’s fair.  My dad will get his third.
  • Haze’s first job could be teaching kids to play games in the after school space at Carlton Landing.
  • Ava can get a job at the funeral home. https://www.hbmfuneralhome.com/

I think I’d like to try and publish Old Kobold Pub Co comics and adventure quests and games, only available at Carlton Landing / Eufala (and amazon).  Educational (how to play games, hidden geocasts quests in Eufala, I don’t know … something).

Maybe my friends at Hasboro or B&G would help me out and also open a soup kitchen “Flavors of the Multiverse” and a studio at Carlton Landing for filming the live show.  Wouldn’t that be a blast for vacationers to watch filming of Beadle & Grimm’s Pandemonium Warehouse shows (Faster, Purple Worm, Kill, Kill, for example).
